How to migrate from SATA data to SSD Data.
Do not do this before 25th July 2015
Login to cloudCP at https://cloudcp.ukdns.biz
Click virtual machines on the left
click your Virtual machine
Check AutoBackup is enabled... we would only recommend doing a migration if you have backups enabled
Hover over backups menu and click images and check you have a recent backup, as if your migration fails, you will need to restore a backup.
to start Migration:
hover storage and click disks.
Your Virtual machine disks will appear here. if the DATA store shows SSD you do not need to make any changes to this disk, you only need to do a migration from SATA data stores.
On the far right of your disk their is a drop down menu titled "actions" click this menu and click Migrate, from the list click a SSD disk group. (SSD or SSD2)
If you have multiple Disks do each disk seperately starting with smaller disks first.IMPORTANT Notes:
Your server will go down during migration
it can take several hours to migrate a server
do not click the cancel icon on the disk migration as this will result in data loss
do not click start server while the disk is migrating
do not migrate unless you have a recent backup.
so far all migrations we have done have been sucessful, once migration is complete the server will come back online and much faster than before.
